The Invisalign Process
Our Invisalign treatment is designed to produce the most aesthetic results, while ensuring that teeth are properly aligned and functional. This is achieved when our patients wear the series of custom aligners for 20-22 hours each day, substituting aligners every one-to-two weeks until treatment is complete. These discreet aligners apply a constant and gentle force to the teeth to straighten them, sometimes in as little as six months! When compared with bracket-and-wire braces, Invisalign offers patients the opportunity to straighten their teeth virtually invisibly and oftentimes faster than with traditional methods. In addition to being inconspicuous, Invisalign does not hinder diet, oral hygiene, or active lifestyles as the aligners are removed for eating and drinking, brushing and flossing, and for high-impact activities or sports.
The Long-Term Health Benefits of Straight Teeth
The benefits of Invisalign go far beyond simply achieving an attractive and straight smile. Teeth that are aligned are much easier to clean, lowering your risk for developing cavities or buildup in hard-to-reach places, between crooked or crowded teeth. With fewer chances of tooth decay, the teeth and gums are more likely to remain healthy and free from infection or inflammation. Straight teeth also come together correctly when resting, biting, or chewing. This helps to prevent abnormal tooth wear, tooth injury, and issues with the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), including chronic headaches or jaw pain. Naturally, one of the biggest benefits of orthodontics is the remarkable improvement in our patients’ self-confidence and excitement from a beautiful, straight smile!
